Joel 3:9-14 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD. Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about. Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. THE VISION In January 2003, Gideon’s Army, the mission arm of Prayer Harvest Ministries, traveled to Rochester, Washington in support of a local pastor. He requested that we stand with him during a one week revival and provide prayer covering. As we were returning home, I began to rest on the plane. As I rested, the Lord started dealing with me and intercession fell very heavily upon me. As I began to pray, the Lord unfolded a vision before me: I began to see thousands and thousands of intercessors being brought from undercover or from some separated place. As they were coming forth, they were running and lining up in ranks. They continued to run into place until I heard the words, “ALL PRESENT AND ACCOUNTED FOR!” As I continued to pray, the Lord began to remind me of my military background. The words “all present and accounted for” are a military expression that was used in my basic training at Lacklands Airforce Base in San Antonio, Texas. He brought to my remembrance another phrase, “dressed and covered.” When I was in Tech School in Biloxi, Mississippi, I would have to call into ranks and then march a squadron of 200 men and women to Tech School. While marching, we had to be what is called “dressed and covered,” that is shoulder to shoulder and so much in step that it sounded like one person marching – one loud thundering beat of the heels of military boots driving into the ground. This signified Unity and Agreement. THE PURPOSE In Ezekiel 22:30, the Lord says, “And I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” Prayer Harvest Ministries has been commissioned by God to call into ranks the intercessors of this present day ministry of praying in the harvest. As such, A Call to Arms is a training tool, or rather, a boot camp, to provide intercessors with formal instruction in the basic fundamentals of intercessory prayer. Topics covered are: • The Rights of Believers in Prayer • Who is an intercessor and what is intercession? • Understanding Spiritual Authority • What is “the harvest?” • Basic Guidelines to Prayer • Guidelines for the Intercessor If you are called to be an intercessor, but lack the training that is necessary for spiritual warfare and “standing in the gap,” please join Prayer Harvest Ministries as we run with the vision that God has given us to gather intercessors for this great end-time harvesting of souls. We are available to provide this training for your church, intercessory prayer group, and other para-church ministry. |
